Hard, high-iodine granular carbon made from selected coconut shell, for water purification, gold recovery, pharmaceutical and food duty.
Coconut shell carbon is the grade to specify when the molecule you need to remove is small and the water or product has to stay clean. Its pore structure is dominated by micropores, the size range that catches chlorine, light organics and the dissolved gold complex in a leach circuit. Our coconut grades run at an iodine value of 1000 to 1200 mg/g, with ash held to 4% or below so little goes back into the treated stream.
The second reason buyers choose it is durability. At a hardness of 98% and above the grains stand up to backwashing and handling instead of breaking down into fines, so the bed keeps its shape and its working capacity for longer.
Not sure which fits your vessel? Send the flow rate, the bed dimensions and the contaminant, and we will recommend a mesh and iodine value.
Our coconut shell grades run at 1000 to 1200 mg/g. Other iodine values can be made to order, so tell us the duty you have in mind.
It is better for small molecules, clean potable duty and hard service. Coal based carbon can suit larger molecules and heavy industrial streams. The right choice depends on what you are removing.
Yes. We provide samples on request so you can test the grade on your own water or process before a bulk order.
