A special 6x12 mesh carbon with high adsorption, high hardness and low ash, for carbon in pulp, carbon in leach and carbon in column circuits.
Two properties decide how a carbon performs in a gold plant. Activity decides how much gold it can load. Hardness decides how long it stays in the circuit, because soft carbon breaks down under agitation and the fines escape through the screens with gold still on them. Our gold grade is built around both, at an iodine value of 1050 to 1150 mg/g with high hardness and abrasion resistance.
A 6x12 grain is coarse enough to screen cleanly out of a pulp and still fine enough to load at a useful rate. It is the size most CIP and CIL circuits are designed around. For a full walk through the three circuits and the elution and reactivation loop, read our guide to activated carbon for gold recovery.
Every ore and circuit behaves differently. We provide samples on request, so your metallurgists can run loading and abrasion tests on your own solution before committing to a bulk order.
6x12 is the standard for most CIP and CIL circuits, and it is the size we supply as our gold recovery grade.
Yes. It is made for CIP, CIL and CIC circuits.
A COA, TDS and MSDS are provided with every consignment.
